What is Russia's place in the world at the beginning of the 21st century?
Organized in partnership with RIA Novosti and the OECD, this conference will explore Russia's integration into global institutions and the global economy. It will review and analyse the current Russian domestic and foreign policy issues, assess the present-day political and economic situation in the Russian Federation and examine the relationship between Russia and international political and economic institutions, including the OECD and WTO. Other sessions will focus on Europe's demand for Russian energy, and competition and cooperation in different spheres between Russia and key Asian countries.
Questions to be discussed include:
- What will be the future economic development priorities? The role of public / private partnerships and relations with international players
- What effect will cooperation with the OECD and the WTO have on
- foreign direct investment
- foreign acquisitions by Russian companies
- the banking and financial sector?
- Russia's role as a G8 member
- How will Russia meet Europe's demand its energy resources?
- Investment openings in the Russian energy sector
- What significant economic alliances are emerging between Russia and its Asian neighbours?
