This event will discuss some of the key policy challenges facing Britain in the next couple of decades, and consider the part the European Union has to play in tackling them. Sir Stephen Wall will outline the key points and recommendations made in the Chatham House Commission Report, A British Agenda for Europe: Designing our Own Future. The report focuses on the areas of foreign and defence policy; energy and climate change; and cooperation in making the world a safer place in terms of combating crime and terrorism. The discussants will respond to the findings of the report and open a wider discussion on the subject of British engagement with the EU in addressing key policy challenges.
