Claudia Hamill
Ms Hamill is an active supporter of Chatham House, serving on its Meetings Advisory Group and having been External Relations Adviser during 2002. She currently serves on its Finance Committee.
Ms Hamill was European and Overseas Director for the National Trust - drawing up strategic plans, raising funds and its profile with European and international policy makers. She is an experienced Chair and conference speaker. She also organised an Asean conference in conjunction with the FCO, spoke on French, Finnish TV and the BBC World Service.
Claudia has recently focused on EU Enlargement and wider European issues. These include working with the European Parliament and other EU institutions, preparing EU Accession Countries' MPs to become MEPs, initiating a Berlin conference on linking civil society, the citizen and the state with 170 participating civil society organisations, media and governments across wider Europe and events with European Ambassadors to the UK.
Currently she is Director of the Fondation Arlon, working on cultural and environmental programmes relating to the EU and the Caribbean, as well as the European Adviser to the Chemical Industries Association. She is still involved with a European Network of 65 organisations across 26 countries which she launched in the 1990s. Claudia is experienced at marketing organisations to potential funders, advising on strategic management issues, has managed substantial budgets and sits on the Board of the Citizenship Foundation. She is a Koenigswinter conference participant and Fellow of the Salzburg Seminar.
