Professor Paul Stevens was awarded the 2009 OPEC Award in recognition of his outstanding work in the field of oil and energy research. The award was established in 2004 by OPEC to honour individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the petroleum industry and oil-related issues. The award honours those who have demonstrated a high level of independence and integrity in their work and who have persistently presented a critical, yet impartial view on oil-related issues in debates.
