Programme Coordinator, Centre on Global Health Security

The Chatham House Centre on Global Health Security represents a major new initiative to explore the inter-linkages between health outcomes and advances, on the one hand, and individual and collective health security, on the other.

The Programme Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative and research support to the programme and to run areas of programme activity. You will have a master's in Public Health or equivalent academic qualification and proven performance in programme management and fund raising. You will ensure the smooth running of programme events and publication production.

Responsibilities

Events Organisation

  • Liaise with partner organisations and speakers
  • Book facilities
  • Organise transport, accommodation, catering and facilities
  • Send invitations and collate replies
  • Deal with enquiries
  • Run events

Project Development and Management

  • Follow up on funding opportunities by helping to draft grant and project proposals
  • Manage specific projects
  • Provide reports to funders

Research

  • Provide research assistance

Publications

  • Edit publications
  • Participate in preparation of manuscripts and Centre publications
  • Proof read and edit programme output
  • Manage production and promotion of publications

Communications

  • Deal with internal and external enquiries
  • Maintain programme web pages
  • Prepare and supply programme material
  • Co-ordinate media interviews
  • Welcome visitors
  • Represent the Centre at internal events of Chatham House, and at outside events of importance to the Centre

Financial Management

  • Devise budgets
  • Process purchase and sales invoices
  • Liaise with funders and suppliers
  • Provide financial reports

Office Management

  • Maintain office systems and facilities
  • Manage programme records
  • Supervise intern(s) as required

Specification

  • Masters in Public Health or equivalent academic qualification
  • Proven performance in health programme management and fund-raising including 2-4 years experience in developing countries
  • Understanding of political science and foreign affairs through documented training or practical experience
  • Proven track record in preparing/writing manuscripts and/or other documents for publication
Other information and to apply

Salary range: £21,062 to £24,386 p.a.
