The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was signed in December 1948. At this event to mark its 60th anniversary, Francesca Klug will ask why we are celebrating this milestone. What was the significance of the UDHR in 1948 and what is its relevance today? The speaker will discuss how the UDHR represents a turning point in human rights thinking and started the 'second wave' of human rights development.
