Chatham House Library was established in 1921, one year after the foundation of the institute, with donations from the institute's original members, legations and international organizations. It is one of the oldest specialist libraries on international affairs in the United Kingdom.

The Library is located in the historic Meston Room on the first floor of Chatham House adjacent to the Members' Room.
