About Americas Research |
Work on the Americas at Chatham House concentrates on the relationship between the US and the rest of the world.
Rethinking the United States' International Role is a major project led by Dr Robin Niblett, Director, Chatham House. It will consider the most promising areas for future US influence and make specific recommendations on how US engagement could have the most beneficial potential impact on a broad range of countries, regions and thematic policy.
A project on Transatlantic Relations in a Changing Mediterranean Context will analyse transatlantic policy approaches towards Mediterranean states and societies.
Recent projects have included a Project on Nuclear Issues, which offered a broad analysis of this critical aspect of the US-UK relationship and assessing the challenges facing NATO.
Chatham House organizes regular United States Discussion Group meetings which consider a range of issues in the US and affecting the transatlantic relationship. We also host a number of larger events with key political figures and had a series of events during 2008 to consider the likely foreign policy implications of a new US President.
