About the Asia programme

The Asia Programme was established in 2002 and is headed by Gareth Price. It undertakes original research, in partnership with institutions and specialists in the region, on the key political, economic and security issues affecting Asia. The work is interdisciplinary, has a strong policy bent, and aims to stimulate public understanding of the issues raised by developments in Asia. The programme currently focuses on the following areas:

To complement the research undertaken, the Asia Programme runs a range of seminars and discussion groups. The discussion groups comprise members of government, business, academia and the media and meet regularly to discuss contemporary issues in their respective regions. Events are advertised on the events page.

Sponsors

The Asia Programme is grateful to the following companies and foundations for their support:

BP
The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation
The Korea Foundation

We are happy to talk to those with an interest in funding research at Chatham House. Financial contributions bring with them the opportunity to support independent research, to have an input to the research that is done at Chatham House, and to have direct access to specialists on the region, as well as other sponsors.
