China and India - more than one third of the world population - are coming to play a weighty role in the world economy and are increasingly shaping world trade patterns. Interconnected projects on these twin powerhouses look at:
- opportunities and risks resulting from the expansion of China and India, and implications for the world economy
- direct investments of Chinese and Indian multinationals in Europe
- implications of Chinese and Indian foreign investments for the competitiveness of European firms
At the same time, the area made up of the countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council is also becoming one of the fastest growing parts of the world economy, speeded up by the oil boom of recent years. This project looks at opportunities for growth and economic diversification in the region and its chances of developing into an international financial centre. More about this Project.
