The Facts Behind the Headlines on Energy Supply
The early part of 2008 saw oil prices rise dramatically, creating international concern about oil supply. Prices have eased in the context of global financial turmoil, but what are the immediate and long-term futures for oil price and supply?
This conference will ask whether supply and capacity in MENA countries can be increased. Are the obstacles to increased supply political, economic, or technical?
Senior figures from governments and industry in the MENA region, national and international oil companies, and expert commentators will discuss:
• The future for oil price and supply
• The necessary conditions to increase investment
• Whether political uncertainties in the MENA region, and between MENA and other countries, will affect investment decisions in the short term, and what impact uncertainty will have on perceptions of supply security
• How MENA energy consumption will affect exports
• In-depth sessions on Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq
