Chatham House

George Edgar, UK Envoy for climate security in Africa
Type: Members event
Countries in sub-Saharan Africa are among those that have contributed least to the problem of climate change, but are likely to be some of the most vulnerable to its effects. These impacts will be felt across a range of sectors including agriculture, food and water security, health, energy, and infrastructure, and if urgent action is not taken they could undermine efforts towards poverty reduction and sustainable development. George Edgar, will explore some of the consequences and options for response.
