About Europe Research

Work on Europe at Chatham House focuses on the role of European countries and Europe-related institutions in tackling a range of global challenges. Research provides practical and policy-relevant perspectives on transnational issues which require European engagement on either a country-specific or continent-wide basis.

Recent and ongoing projects include work on EU trade relations and inward investment; EU-Chinese engagement on tackling climate change; the politics of European energy relations with Russia; and a Commission on Europe after 50 which considered British engagement with other EU member states and institutions.

These projects, which are led by a variety of research programmes at Chatham House, are complemented by regular events with senior European leaders and decision-makers to discuss topical issues.
