Type: Members event

The speaker will present her research findings from Human Rights Watch's first ever fact-finding mission to Saudi Arabia, where she interviewed over a hundred Saudi women from a range of professional and socio-economic backgrounds throughout the country. She will argue that the Saudi government's imposition of male guardianship on women and strictly enforced sex segregation remain the most fundamental obstacles to the realization of women's rights in the Kingdom. Professor Al-Rasheed will comment on the findings.
