The Chatham House website search facility works on full words rather than character sets e.g. a search for 'Nigeria' will not return results for 'Nigerian'.

Searching on phrases returns the result with the closest phrase, then by any word in the phrase. You can define phrases to search for by surrounding them in quotes (e.g. "this is a phrase").

You will be able to sort results of searches by relevance, author or date.

You can narrow your search by the area of the website or type of content that you are interested in. Below is a brief description of the search area options available from the drop down list at the top of every page.

Everywhere

All areas of the site will be searched.

Reports and papers

Selecting this option will allow you to search through Chatham House Reports and Briefing Papers stretching back to 1996 as well as other document resources including special reports, working papers, conference reports and proceedings, transcripts and summary reports of meetings and seminars.

Events and conferences

This allows you to search through all past and forthcoming Chatham House events and conferences recorded on the website. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and not all events are publicised.

International Affairs

Search through Chatham House's bi-monthly journal International Affairs, Europe's leading journal of international relations. Please note that the articles are accessible only to members of Chatham House. Members will need to login to the website before viewing the article.

The World Today

Search Chatham House's monthly magazine The World Today, which advances debate on a range of emerging issues. The current issue of The World Today is offered free to all but the archive is accessible only to Chatham House members.

Books

The catalogue lists titles published since 1999. Full-length books, sometimes co-published, are scholarly, reflective studies.
